5th Annual James C. Reed 5K Run/Walk

Four years ago, Circle K began to endow a scholarship fund in the memory of James C. Reed, an honorary member and long time friend of Circle K. For fifteen years prior to his untimely passing in 1999, Circle K members would visit James twice a week to assist him in an exercise routine to help him overcome Muscular Dystrophy. James was one of the most caring, warm, and friendly people around and has a special place in the hearts of many Circle K members as well as to the Blacksburg community.
Last year we reached our monetary goal for the scholarship
fund, but would like to continue raising money in James’
name. Half of the proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy
Family Foundation and the other half will be added to the
scholarship fund so that more high school seniors can receive
a scholarship. To raise funds, Circle K is having its 4th
Annual 5K Run/Walk on April 30, 2005. As part of this event
and in support of continuing education, Circle K needs people
to either run/walk or help in the organization of the race!
