Club Committees

Joining a club committee or chairing a committee is a great way to get involved within Virginia Tech Circle K International (VTCKI)! Every committee chair is responsible for working in conjunction with an officer to utilize their committee effectively. The committee chair is responsible for calling and running committee meetings and reporting the committee’s progress to the appropriate parties (i.e. the club, a officer, the district board etc.)

  • Formals Committee Chair

The formals committee works to put on a district wide formal dance hosted by Virginia Tech in the fall of each year. This person collaborates with the K-Family Liaison.

  • James Reed Scholarship Committee Chair

    The James Reed Scholarship Committee works with the fundraising chairs and the Kiwanis Family Liaison to raise money for the James Reed Memorial Scholarship.

  • Scrapbook Committee Co-Chairs
The scrapbook committee works to produce a club scrapbook in time for each district convention and works with the Membership Vice-President.
  • K-Kids Committee

District Committees
Do you want to be more involved in the Capital District? Join a District committee! It's the perfect opportunity to get involved and have your ideas heard.

  • Service Committee Chair
The service committee promotes the Circle K International Service Initiative, the Tomorrow Fund and the District Project throughout the Capital District to provide clubs with suggested service projects. This committee is also responsible for planning and promoting District-wide projects.
  • Membership Development and Education Committee Chair
The Membership Development and Education Committee (MD&E) assists clubs in the implementation of membership education, development, recruitment and retention. This committee also publicizes district events and helps clubs with public relations and membership programs.
  • Kiwanis Family and Sister District Committee Chair
The Kiwanis Family and Sister District Committee promotes interclubbing on the club, divisional, and district levels as well interactions with sister districts and all members of the K-Family. This committee works on strengthening K-Family relations throughout the District by publicizing K-Family events and implementing K-Family programs.
  • Webpage Committee Chair
The webpage committee works with the district webmaster and the webpage committee chair in order to update the district webpage and assist other clubs in the district in the creation of their own webpages.
  • Laws, Regulations, and Awards Committee Chair
The Laws, Regulations, and Awards Committee helps to main the policy code and District Bylaws in conformity with the constitution, policy code and bylaws of Circle K International. This committee shall also maintain district awards appropriate judging materials and assist the chair in making any recommendations for changes.
  • Historian Committee Chairs
The Historian Committee shall work with the District Board to record the vents of the district, document and promote district history and produce the convention slide slow presentation.
  • Club Building and Revitalization Committee Chair

The Club Building and Revitalization Committee (CB&R) works together to identify potential new clubs within the district and building those new clubs. This committee also works with struggling, past due, suspended and retained clubs and aid officers of those clubs with developing membership growth.
