The Circle K Club at Virginia Tech is in close proximity to several other Circle K Clubs. Circle K Clubs that are close to each other form a division. VT Circle K belongs to the Valley Division. There are two other clubs in our division: Emory and Henry, and Radford University. A division is lead by a Lt. Governor who comes from a club within the division that they are leading. The Lt. Governor networks with the club boards to create a more cohesive division. They advise club officers and promote joint projects and events.
Each Lt. Governor represents their division at the district level. A district is made up of several divisions that are close together. The Valley Division is part of the Capital District. The Capital District is made up of Virginia, DC, Maryland, and Delaware. There are eight divisions within the Capital District: Valley, Tidewater-64, Presidential, Battlefield, Susquehanna, Foothills, Metro, and Ridgeline. Each district is lead by a District Board of Officers. This board is made up of a Governor, a Secretary/Treasurer, a Bulletin Editor, and the Lt. Governors from the various divisions. All District Board Officers must come from a club that is within the district. Each year there are Fall and Spring Training Rallies (FTR and STR) at which the District comes together to receive training, do service, and have tons of fun. There is also a District Convention (DCON) each year in the Spring when District Officers are elected.
As a whole, Circle K International is lead by an International Board of Officers consisting of a President, a Vice President, and 9 International Trustees. Each Trustee is assigned to council three or four districts within the organization. Unlike, the District Level, the International Trustees do not have to come from within the districts they are counseling. Each summer there is an International Convention (ICON) where International Officers are elected. Members can also receive valuable training and will have an opportunity to meet Circle K' ers from around the world! |
